For this assignment, I undertook the challenge of crafting a one-minute motion-animated video utilizing After Effects, inspired by an audio track associated with a non-profit cause. Following thorough research, I opted to develop a motion graphic piece highlighting the endeavors of a non-profit educational initiative called Hip Hop for Change.

As seen from the mission statement on their website, “Hip Hop For Change breaks down barriers between youth and justice issues that affect their lives and communities using Hip hop as a vehicle. We educate, employ, and empower historically marginalized communities and inspire the next generation of leaders advocating for change through this work!”

After discovering the suitable audio track from the video, my initial step was to draft a storyboard outlining the entire video. This primarily involved determining which elements to incorporate for each segment of dialogue. Following the extraction of audio from the video, I meticulously edited the audio to guide the visual direction of the video, ensuring alignment with the fundamental message of the cause.

After establishing the elements, I proceeded to refine the project by solidifying a color scheme. While maintaining the core components, I exercised creative freedom during the animation process in After Effects, making selective alterations to enhance visual appeal and coherence.
